At EmpowerHER, our mission is to provide women business owners with the knowledge, connections, and resources they need to succeed in today’s competitive marketplace. We focus on three main pillars: strategic investments in technology, effective management of money, and developing a growth mindset.
Our program is designed to help women build confidence, adopt the right technologies, and manage their finances effectively, setting them on a faster path to success. Through our events, workshops, and strategic collaborations, we aim to fill the gap in support that many women entrepreneurs face.

Kay Bogolin is a financial services executive with over 35 years of experience with major banks, technology, consulting and financial service companies. Having worked in 3 male-dominated industries, Kay is excited about the growing numbers of role models and doors that are opening to smart talented women in business. She has served as a mentor and manager to men and women, and she wanted to help women accelerate their path to success. Three years ago, Kay realized there were 2 solutions that could overcome challenges limiting the success rate of women in business – finance and technology.
March 2023, Kay established the Changing the Game for Women Business Owners Mastermind Group. Their Mission was to create architecture to feed and execute a curriculum, a platform that can automate the process, and vehicles to fund Ocala and future locations. She also realized that her background made her uniquely qualified to transform technology and finance into user friendly vehicles and relevant tools for women in business. During the last 2 years, our Mastermind members have identified the target market, defined our mission, created marketing strategies, and put together a curriculum. Today, we are recruiting speakers, sponsors, and other resources to make the curriculum come alive in September 2025.
Kay’s clients have included corporations ranging from small, privately held to Fortune 1000 companies as well as financial institutions throughout the U.S. and Argentina. She was group executive for the premier banking association responsible for conferences, research, and educational forums related to commercial, retail, operations, and technology. The relationships she developed with senior executives from the top 25 banks led to an introduction to technology and a position with Oracle.
Over the years, in multiple industries, Kay has provided comprehensive assessments and implementation of solutions enabling clients to grow and prosper. She has also served local communities through chambers and other organizations including the Ocala/Marion County Chamber & Economic Partnership (CEP), Lady Lake Chamber, and Past President of the Barrington (IL) Area Professional Women. She is a member of Association for Corporate Growth (ACG Orlando), Bold Ladies of Marion County and the International Association of Women (IAW).
Kay is also an investor of time and resources in nonprofits, including the America Cancer Society (ACS), Northwestern University, and the Royal Dames of Ocala. She has served as a member of the ACS Illinois Leadership Circle; Former Co-Chair of the Silent Auction Committee for the ACS Cattle Baron’s Ball in The Villages, and Team Captain for “Believers in Better Birthdays” in Barrington, IL and The Villages, FL Relays for Life.
Kay successfully passed the CPA Exam in IL, has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting & Pre-Law from College of St. Teresa, Winona, MN, and was awarded a Master’s Degree in Finance and Marketing from Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Evanston, IL.

EmpowerHER was founded in March 2023 with a vision to change the game for women business owners. It started with a group of eight seasoned professionals—women and men from various industries—coming together to create a new path for women in business. This diverse team included members from the Ocala CEP and local business leaders.
Together, we developed a comprehensive 9-month program focused on providing women with the tools they need to succeed in technology and finance. Over the past two years, we've forged strong partnerships with national and regional companies, ensuring that our program offers access to the best resources available.
